È un'ottima occasione per conoscere più da vicino una delle migliori scrittrici italiane. Molti di voi sicuramente la ricordano per un breve racconto, piuttosto strano a dire il vero, che normalmente si legge al primo anno: "Mio marito, l'altra famiglia"; ma per apprezzarla davvero, bisogna leggere i bellissimi romanzi LA LUNGA VITA DI MARIANNA UCRIA (dal quale è stato anche tratto un film) e BAGHERIA .
La sua stessa biografia sembra già la trama di uno dei suoi romanzi: Dacia Maraini è figlia dello scrittore ed etnologo Fosco Maraini e della pittrice siciliana Topazia Alliata , appartenente all'antico casato degli Alliata di Salaparuta . La nonna materna si chiamava Sonia Ortúzar Ovalle ed era la figlia di un diplomatico cileno con la passione del canto lirico . La nonna paterna di Dacia era la scrittrice Yoi Crosse, per metà polacca e per metà inglese .
Dacia trascorre la sua infanzia in Giappone dove la sua famiglia si stabilisce dal 1939 al 1946 . Lì, dal 1943 al 1946, la famiglia è internata in un campo di concentramento giapponese. Al ritorno in Italia, si trasferiscono in Sicilia , presso i nonni materni, nella Villa di Valguarnera di Bagheria , ma poi i genitori si separarono.
A 18 anni Dacia raggiunge il padre a Roma dove riscuote il suo primo successo con il romanzo La vacanza ( 1962 ). Esce il nuovo romanzo di GIANRICO CAROFIGLIO: Il paradosso del poliziotto edito da Nottetempo , nella collana I sassi (pag. 40, euro 3).

Io feci di sí con la testa e poi gli dissi che se voleva potevo andare io dal padre a informarlo.

Al ritorno dalle nostre vacanze di Pasqua, riniziamo da dove ci eravamo lasciati. Dall' Abruzzo e dal terremoto che ha fatto quasi 300 morti.
Alcuni registi famosi, hanno voluto dare il loro contributo attraverso dei brevi video e ve li proponiamo. Per non dimenticare. Perché per un terremoto così si muore in Italia, ma non in Giappone (dove una scossa della stessa identità non ha fatto neanche un morto). Perché non è stato il terremoto a provocare tanti morti, ma la mano criminale di chi ha costruito edifici e case con la sabbia di mare in una delle zone a maggior rischio sismico dell'Italia. Raggiunge grande popolarità quando diviene l’inno del Partito Fascista. Da allora è eseguita in tutte le manifestazioni pubbliche tenute dopo la marcia di Roma.
